Louisiana Partimento Conservatory
“Louisiana Partimento Conservatory is a charity, and music trade school based on the model of the great Neapolitan conservatories of the 18th century. LPC and its faculty see music as a trade best learned through apprenticeship and a priority of generalized education over specialization.”
Branding overhaul. That was the primary goal with LPC. Their prior brand image was stuck in the realm of a classical music training program. The biggest problem was that they did so much more than that. Speaking with Daniel Paul Christian, the president of the conservatory, enlightened me to the main goal of the organization.
“Our goal is to create commercially viable, multitalented musicians. Those who can speak the language of the industry and play an instrument. Those who know the ethics of music business just as well as how they know how to record their own songs.”
The Five Principles of LPC:
Performance
Logistics
Ethics
Recording and Production
Community Relations
The visual style they were looking for was based on 50’s-80’s record label designs according to preprepared mood boards. The typically monochrome designs lent themselves well to a more minimalist design language, while still maintaining a retro-modern sleek aesthetic.
